What memories from your childhood do you cherish most? Do you have photos of those memories?
For me –
♥︎ baking with my mom…
♥︎ digging through the scrap parts bucket and building things with my dad…
♥︎ playing street hockey with my brother (he always made me the goalie)…
♥︎ being rescued by my sister when my brother teased me too much… 😝
I don’t have photos of most of my favorite memories – but I wish I did!! I have lots of photos that were taken while I was growing up, but not many are the truly candid, REAL moments that I cherish and that will help tell the story of my youth to generations to come.
Documentary photography captures your family in its realest moments in a way that will fill you with emotion for years. Memories filled with true personality to pass on for your future generations to enjoy.
- It all starts with a conversation! Consultations are complimentary and no obligation. Think of it as having coffee or tea with a new friend. I like to get to know my clients before their session (and let them get to know me too)! The business aspects we cover include what type of session you’re looking for, the types of products you want, and your budget for the session and products.
- Keep it real!! Leave the mess, dress & act naturally. I’m not here to judge – just document your story in the least obtrusive way possible. (And I promise to choose flattering angles that hide the mess as much as possible. Don’t worry – my house is messy too.)
Documentary style sessions can capture anything from daily life (little moments to memorialize your little one’s childhood) to big life changes (a growing family, a new home, a new pet, etc).
- A sneak peek is usually sent within 24 hours. Your final products are usually delivered within 2 weeks of your session. Custom orders are possible! An ordering session can be arranged usually within a week of your session.
Until further notice: the price for all documentary sessions is “pay what you wish” (including session fees and a selection of digital files. The number of digital files depends on the length of the session. Prints and products can be purchased a la carte).
I can only accept a very limited number of sessions right now, and I want you to have meaningful and beautiful photographs capturing the important little details of your everyday life, even if you ordinarily can’t afford a professional photographer. Life is too short, and when photos are all that are left, they should tell the story of our spirit and love.
“Enjoy the little things in life, for one day you’ll look back and realize they were the big things.” – Kurt Vonnegut
“Realize deeply that the present moment is all that you ever have. Make the Now the primary focus of your life.” – Eckhart Tolle
“Katy is wonderful! We had a bit of a cranky baby and she was patient and kind. She made everything relaxed and easy so we could capture sweet moments between us. We now have beautiful pictures of our family. She even made beautiful holidays cards for us to send out this year. I totally recommend her and will be calling her again. Thank you again Katy Rose!”– Danielle W.
“Katy came in and seemed like an old friend. She was so down to earth but you can tell this is her life’s passion. She is punctual, her work is amazing, and she’s absolutely meticulous about all the little details. Can’t recommend her enough!”– Maddie V.
